Job description
The Data Quality Engineer is responsible for developing, documenting, and performing data quality checks for all data sources. This includes checks on file set composition, file counts, and execution of the data pipeline. The primary goal is to develop tools and metrics to ensure that high quality data are provided to clients.
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Work with Data Operators to ensure quality control processes are executed
- Develop and implement data quality tooling and analytics in collaboration with Data Engineering team
- Implement and document data quality processes for all data sources
- Track and monitor data quality metrics
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Data Operators and Engineers to elicit additional quality control metrics
- Collaborate on and learn new technologies
- Perform ongoing monitoring and refinement of data quality checks
Key requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science and Information Systems, Database Management, Big Data, Data Engineering, Data Science, Applied Math, etc.
- 1-3 years of experience working with large data and variety of data sources.
- 1-3 years of development experience
- 1-3 years of experience with general purpose scripting language, Python/Ruby preferred
- 1-3 years of experience working on ETL pipelines and data loading automation

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $95,000 to $118,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
